TRANSFORM

“In many respects, Iowa’s parks represent the best of our state’s past, present, and with our collective focus and energy, the future. They need to be restored to premier status for the 100th anniversary celebration in 2020. Renewal projects will require a substantial investment to transform Iowa’s parks and restore them to premier status.”

Terry Branstad

Iowa Governor (1983-1999)

Transforming and restoring Iowa’s parks to world call status will require new private and public financing of about $15.00 per Iowan per year for the next decade.

Today, education and interpretive services for park visitors are almost nonexistent as Iowa’s parks have become a self-service experience. Most of our parks are poorly maintained and well below today’s acceptable standards and user expectations. Basic park infrastructure is dangerously outdated while historic CCC structures are crumbling.

Through the Foundation you can change the visitor experience in our parks for the better.
